Help and contact

Kinroll builds your family tree in ChatGPT from what you share: photos of certificates and records, what you know, or a GEDCOM file. Every fact keeps the record it came from.

Getting started

  1. In ChatGPT, open Plugins and add Kinroll.
  2. Say "Start a family tree for the Rossi family".
  3. Tell ChatGPT about a relative ("My grandfather Giovanni Rossi was born in Lucca in 1921"), attach a photo of a certificate and say "Add this document", or attach a .ged file and say "Import this GEDCOM file".

Things you can say

  • "Show my family tree" or "What do we know about Maria Neri, and where does it come from?"
  • "Giovanni and Giuseppe Rossi are the same person, merge them"
  • "Uncle Pietro has died" (so his details are no longer hidden as a living person's)
  • "Start the tree from my grandmother Rosa"
  • "Make a poster of my ancestors" or "...of Giovanni's descendants"
  • "Preview the family book", then "Order the book"
  • "Export my tree as a GEDCOM file"
  • "Delete my family tree"

Common questions

Why does someone show as "Living"? Kinroll treats anyone born within the last 100 years without a death record, and anyone with no dates at all, as living. Tell ChatGPT if they have died.

Two records give different dates. Kinroll keeps both, each with its source, so you can see the disagreement. Remove the one you don't trust with "Correct Rosa's birth date to 1899".

My GEDCOM file didn't import. Kinroll reads GEDCOM files up to 10 MB and 5,000 people. Export from your genealogy program as GEDCOM 5.5.1 if you can.

Where is my book? Say "Where's my family book order?" in ChatGPT, or open the order link in your confirmation email.
