Print a family tree: poster or book

A poster shows the shape of the family at a glance: Kinroll draws a 36 × 24 inch ancestor or descendant chart as a PDF you can print at any print shop. A book holds the evidence too: Kinroll's 8.5 × 11 inch hardcover has pedigree charts, a page for each family with every fact's source, and an index of names.

Step by step

  1. Pick the starting person. Charts and the book start from your tree's home person; say “Start the tree from my grandmother Rosa” to change it.
  2. Make the poster. Say “Make a poster of my ancestors” (or “…of Giovanni's descendants”) and download the PDF.
  3. Preview the book. Say “Preview the family book” to see every page and anything to fix first.
  4. Order copies. Say “Order the book”. Payment and the address are on Kinroll's website, never in chat.

Getting the poster printed

The PDF is 36 × 24 inches, a standard poster size most print shops and online printers take. Ask for matte paper; it photographs better behind glass.

Living people appear by name only, so the poster can hang in a hallway or travel to a reunion.
